Digg Censoring The Word WristWatch?

I was doing my morning Digg surfing when I came across an interesting article on the main page with one of the words censored out of the title. I don’t know when Digg starting censoring dirty words, but I wasn’t logged in and I guess it’s enabled by default.

My first thought was what explicit word could possibly be here and make sense? I had to log in to find out.

Of course! Everyone knows the common explicit definition of wristwatch. What, you didn’t? Neither did I. I guess they’ve still got some kinks to work out of the censoring system. I’ll be doing my Digg surfing logged in from now on, because who knows what I’m missing.

My Adventures through Dell Technical Support

Here’s the skinny - I purchased a laptop, it stopped working, and I wanted another one. But, in order to accomplish this feat I had to venture into the dreaded world of corporate technical support. Due to some performance issues I was having with Firefox and sites with a lot of Flash, I decided to give Flashblock a try. I’m not necessarily a proponent of blocking advertisements - this blog uses ads to pay for the bandwidth - however some of my favorite sites were causing some downright unacceptable sluggishness in Firefox. I eventually narrowed the problem down to the many Flash ads some sites put on the page (at the time of writing this, Engadget has six Flash advertisements on their main page).

To my disappoint, however, Flashblock has the unintentional side effect of blocking Silverlight applications. I don’t think the addon is explicitly blocking them. Instead I believe Silverlight simply uses some syntax that Flashblock blocks when blocking ordinary Flash.

Where is Silverlight’s Isolated Storage Image Support?

Recently, we decided to write a tutorial on how to use Silverlight’s isolated storage. In theory, isolated storage is a great feature that allows Silverlight to view offline content. In practice, however, you’re pretty limited on what it can be used for.
