Signing up for Slicehost

I’m starting work on a new website, and I’m downright tired of my old hosting company. Their tools are cumbersome, their plans are undecipherable, and the level of spam email I get from them is reaching impressive levels. I’ve watched as a variety of people, including the SOTC guys (Red, Tall, and “Fat”) have migrated from shared hosting, to dedicated hosting, to even larger dedicated hosting, and it just looks like a miserable high-effort experience to me.

Window Live FolderShare - Remote File Access and Syncing

Often I have the issue where I have files on one of my computers that I need but have no access to the computer right at the moment. Well I have found an easy to use solution for this problem, it’s called Windows Live FolderShare. This is a Microsoft website and desktop solution. Basically it lets you do three things: sync files between multiple computers, remotely access your computer files, and share files with others. I will explain these in more detail below.

Super Mega Ultra Search

So what happens when you mix JavaScript developers and boredom? Apparently you get Super Mega Ultra Search. This seemingly useless conglomeration gives you the ability to search all the major search engines from the comfort of a single page. It even has Ask.com. I’m well aware that no one uses Ask.com, but we wanted four engines so the feng shui wasn’t all thrown out of whack.
